A NUN standing at just 2ft 7ins tall is
worshipped across India – with men falling at her feet on a daily basis.
Anjali Barma, also known as Ganga Maa, spends
every hour of every day near her Hindu temple welcoming worshippers. The
65-year-old dwarf, from the Indian holy city of Haridwar, in northern India,
said: “People from all walks of life bow to me. “I used to hate being so small
but now I love it. It has brought me many fortunes and people think I'm an
extra special holy person.”
Apart from the usual everyday blessings covering
jobs, wealth, health and marriages, her devotees also ask her to pray and bless
the most bizarre requests ranging from visa approvals to gambling bets.
She said: “I try to advise everyone to stay away from vices but when a devotee comes from afar one has to respect his wishes so I do as I’m asked.”
